The Healthy Ireland Summary Report 2022 (published in 2022 by Healthy Ireland) provides a lot of useful data, including information on who visits a GP:
- 71% visited a GP in Ireland in the previous 12 months.
- 79% of women and 68% of men visited a GP in the last 12 months.
- 3.8 is the average number of visits to a GP for those aged 15 or older.
- In the 12 months, GP visits averaged 3 visits among 15 to 24 year olds and 6.5 visits among those aged 75+
- 84% of all GP consultations in 2022 took place within the GP surgery.
